Water Purification(Mineral Water Plant)

In our college, the drinking water has been purified by modern treatment technology using Filtration,Ion exchange and Reverse osmosis. There are two R.O. plants are in operation to cater the drinking water needs of all the students, staff members, supporting staff and the visitors. The raw water with an average total dissolved solid [TDS] of 750-1000 ppm is treated to reduce the TDS content to less than 100 ppm, which is generally acceptable upper limit of the TDS.
This is done in three stages, namely: Pretreatment consists of sand filtration, coke treatment, and ion exchange;main process comprises 6 RO membrane filters held in parallel to each other, and post treatment. The maximum capacity of each plant is 1,500 liters per hour. This water is pure, tasty and hygienic rendering it highly suitable for human consumption.

The RO treated drinking water is dispensed through 110 Water Coolers in the college provided at various locations that include Class Room Blocks, Laboratory Blocks, Administrative Block and other Centres .

The rejected water from the treatment plants has been used for gardening and washing purposes. These plants not only facilitate the supply of safe drinking water but also obviate the otherwise involved huge expenditure for procuring drinking water for the large number of people in the campus. Now the institution can be liberal in the provision of our own made RO water. This RO treated water is used for drinking purposes as well as cooking purposes. Coolers connected to this plantprovides cold drinking water in every floor of class roomblocks, administrative block, library, laboratories, hostels etcIn addition, water heaters are also available in class room blocks to provide hot drinking water for the students in need.
