NCC History

The NCC in India was established under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was elevated on July 15, 1948. The National Cadet Corps can be considered a successor of the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC), which was formed by the British in 1942. The UOTC never lived up to the British aspirations during World War II. This gave rise to the notion that better programs ought to be developed in order to train more young men in a more effective manner, even in times of peace. A national cadet organization should be founded in schools and universities, according to a committee led by Pandit H.N. Kunzru. The Governor General approved the National Cadet Corps Act, and on July 15.

NCC at St. Joseph's

  • With the best instruction and the principles of selfless service, NCC in St. Joseph's inspires its pupils. Training builds a sense of nationality and teamwork as well as the entire development of the person. To cultivate a pool of young people who are motivated, organized, and skilled virtually in every aspect of life. These individuals will be able to lead the country in any career path they choose. The organization is led competently by Dr. B. Babu Manoharan, the chairman, and Dr. Vaddi Seshagiri Rao, the principal and Mr. R. Sreekanth, the caretaker at St. Joseph's College of Engineering.

  • Twenty SDs (Senior Division) and fifteen SWs (Senior Wing) make up a total of 35 cadets. To preserve the NCC's motto of unity and discipline, we collaborate regardless of our backgrounds. Weekly parade sessions consist of four sessions.

  • Physical training: Our NCC cadets begins their day with a invigorating early morning physical session of 1 hour. We use this session to increase our muscle and core power and to improve our stamina.

  • Drill: Considered a unique experience for NCC cadets, drill is the most exciting part of training. It takes place once a week in the evening. During this exercise, cadets demonstrate their drill and leadership abilities.

  • Theory class: To ensure that they are informed of the culture in which they live, cadets are often trained about leadership, weapons, the military, politics, health, and cleanliness in addition to their physical training. Their confidence is also increased by this session.
