About the department
The Department of Cyber Security was established in 2024 with a sanctioned student intake of 60 students. The department is dedicated to providing comprehensive education and training in network security, ethical hacking, cryptography, digital forensics, and cyber law. With a well-structured curriculum, modern laboratories, and experienced faculty, the department focuses on practical learning, industry collaborations, and cutting-edge research in cybersecurity. The department also encourages internships, cybersecurity competitions, and industry-driven projects to ensure students stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field.

M1. To nurture highly skilled cybersecurity professionals capable of detecting, preventing, and mitigating evolving cyber threats through a rigorous, research-driven curriculum and hands-on learning.

M2. To develop a transformative cybersecurity education framework that integrates foundational principles with advanced topics such as AI-driven security, quantum cryptography, blockchain security, and threat intelligence.

M3. To establish strong industry, government, and academic collaborations that provide students with real-world exposure, internships, and cutting-edge research opportunities in cybersecurity.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO1: To make the students possess a solid understanding of the fundamental principles and practices of cybersecurity, including knowledge of cryptography, network security, ethical hacking, and risk management.
PEO2: To develop a strong sense of ethical responsibility and professional conduct, adhering to the highest standards in cybersecurity practices.
PEO3: To develop strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, enabling them to design, implement, and manage secure systems and networks.
PEO4: To make the students recognize the importance of lifelong learning and continuous professional development in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity.
PEO5: To develop leadership and teamwork skills, enabling them to effectively lead and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational cybersecurity goals.
Program Outcomes (POs)
Engineering graduates will be able to:
1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3. Design/development of solutions: Design solution for complex engineering problems and design systems components or process that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research- based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
7. Environmental and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
10.Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
11.Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
12.Life-Long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
1. Graduates will gain specialized knowledge and technical skills in advanced cybersecurity domains such as network defense, penetration testing, and secure software development.
2. Graduates will be proficient in developing and enforcing cybersecurity policies and ensuring compliance with national and international standards and regulations.
3. Graduates will be skilled in integrating cybersecurity solutions with emerging technologies such as cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and blockchain.

Library
The Department of Management Studies Library, established in 1995, is located on the first floor of the MBA department. Spanning 2,500 square feet, it accommodates approximately 60 racks and holds a collection of 14,781 books across 1,009 titles. The library subscribes to 14 management journals and provides access to 118 e-journals. Additionally, it includes 15 e-books from McGraw Hill and 6 e-books from Elsevier. New books are added to the collection annually to ensure resources are up-to-date.
