Our college celebrates Ramzan every year. All the Muslim students in our college undergo fasting within the campus. According to the Muslim custom, we serve the early morning food called Sahar with delicious items at the mess hall from 4.30 a.m. In the evening, the Muslim students are served Iftikhar with dates, cool drinks porridge as a sign of breaking the fast. The hostel students Namaz in their respective hostel rooms. Special Namaz is being conducted at 1.00 pm. on every Friday. During the Ramzan period, we organise special prayers in our college mosque.

Teacher's Day

St. Joseph's celebrates Teachers Day every year on 5th September. On that day, our students entertain their faculty members with unique programmes and stage performances. Management appreciates all the teachers with gifts.

Vinayaka Chathurthi


Vinayaka Chathurthi

St. Joseph’s celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi, is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is one of the important Hindu festivals with great devotion. This day is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesh, the elephant-headed son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Lord Ganesh is the symbol of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. Pooja is grandly performed in our college temple every year in the presence of our beloved Chairman and Managing Director family. Delicious food is offered to the Lord then Kozhakatai is distributed to the students.

Onam

Onam

St. Joseph's celebrates Onam, which marks the first month of the Malayalam calendar known as Chingam. The festival commemorates the appearance of the Vamana avatar of Vishnu and the subsequent homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali. This festival of rice harvest is celebrated with great spirituality and delight. All Malayali students participate with enthusiasm on this special occasion. Our beloved Chairman and Managing Director attend this festival with his family and convey his wishes to all the students. Malayali students dressed up in their traditional wear, particularly girls wearing the kasavu saree and performing kaikottikali, Malayalam paattu and Nadakam. The celebration is called off with the grand dinner where the menu includes aviyal, erussery, pulissery, nenthram pazham and different types of payasam.

Ayutha Pooja

Ayutha Pooja Ayutha Pooja

Our college celebrates Ayudha Pooja every year by arranging Kolu for nine days in our college from the day of Mahalaya Amavasya till Vijayadasami. On this auspicious day, all the Laboratories and Office is beautified with plantain trees, mango leaves and glazing papers followed by a pooja in the presence of our beloved Chairman, Managing Director and Director. The unique part of this celebration is the delicious lunch, sweets and ice creams that are served to all the students and staff. Gift vouchers for Deepavali are distributed on the day of Ayudha pooja to Administrative staff, Technical staff, Non-Technical staff, Drivers, Sweepers, workers in the mess and daily wage workers.

Deepavali

Deepavali

Deepavali is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. Deepavali is the most expected festival by all. Management, staff and the students celebrate this festival of lights with happiness, positivity and enthusiasm. A grand lunch with many delicious dishes with sweets and desserts are served to the staff and students every year.

Kaarthigai Deepam

Kaarthigai Deepam

We celebrate Kaarthigai Deepam on the eve of the full moon day in the Tamil month of Kaarthigai. This festival is known for brightened lights lit all over the campus, signifying growth and prosperity. The deepam celebration takes place in our college every year with lamps with the divine flame to fend off evil forces and escort ecstasy.

Padi pooja

Padi pooja

Ayyapa Padi Pooja is celebrated every year by decorating the holy steps of Ayyappa with flowers and silk clothes and lighting the traditional lamp. The Chairman, Managing Director, Executive Director, Staff and Students attend the pooja, and “irumudi” is tied to those who go to Sabarimala. Devotional Ayyappa songs will be chanted during pooja and end with a grand feast to those who attend pooja.

Christmas

Christmas Christmas

St. Joseph's celebrate Christmas in December every year. Christmas reminds us of the importance of sharing, exchanging gifts and living in peace and harmony with our family and friends. Christmas is the season of joy, exchanging holiday greetings, gift-giving, and family reunions. We organise a special holy mass in our college chapel. The celebrations included a rhythmic performance from the college choir and an add-on surprise package by Santa Claus. The staff and students are spellbound with the Christmas gratification, and the day will call off with a hearty lunch.

Pongal

Pongal

Pongal, the festival of harvest, is an occasion that is believed to chime in opulence. It is renowned as a thanksgiving festival for various Hindu deities. “Thai” is the first month of the Tamil Almanac, where the joy-filled Pongal occasion comes. The celebration in the college takes place in January. The day’s lunch includes different varieties of Pongal. Indeed, Pongal is a festival of freedom, peace, unity and compassion crystallized in the last hymn on unity in the Indian spiritual text the Rig Veda.

Hostel day

Hostel day

Hostel day is one of the most awaited occasions in St. Joseph's College of Engineering every year. This wonderful day is celebrated in the college hostels with several events for both boys and girls. The hostels are decorated with colourful lamps and balloons, making them more eye-catching. Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi matches are conducted, and the winners and runners are awarded cash prizes. Varieties of cultural events such as singing, skit and dance are performed in the presence of our beloved Chairman, Managing Director and Executive Director. Games and other events are conducted three days before hostel day. Special dinner and snacks are provided to the hostellers.

Ugadi

Ugadi

Our college celebrates Ugadi every year. The Telugu New year festival called Ugadi comes close on the heels of Holi. This day of celebration is marked by religious fanaticism and social jollity. A special dinner will be served for the hostel students. Exotic dishes made with raw mango is the highlight of this occasion. Ugadi is the most auspicious time to start new ventures and a cheerful and memorable celebration to be remembered by the staff and students of our college for a lifetime.

Easter

Our College celebrated Easter. Easter is the springtime holiday marking the rebirth of Jesus and the renewal of the Christian faith. A special programme was conducted by St. Josephs College Fellowship in our college Placement Cell which was attended by students and staff. The celebrations started with worship songs and prayer. Heartfelt wishes were shared among everyone and ended off with holy blessing of God.

Tamil New Year

Tamil New Year

Our college celebrated Tamil New year in 13th April 2019. The Tamil New year festival is popularly called Puthandu. It is the celebration of the first day of the traditional Tamil calendar. The day is marked with feast and decorated with kolams. Special lunch was served to all as a part of celebrations.
