The alumni talk provided valuable insights into the

complexities of high-voltage direct current
transmission systems. It highlighted the critical role
that accurate measurements play in ensuring the
reliability, safety, and efficiency of these systems. The
session concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing
participants to interact with the speaker and explore
the topic further. Mr. Komahan Kumanan, a 2014-2018
alumnus and Project Engineer at Hitachi Energy, led
the discussion titled "CURRENT MEASUREMENTS IN
HVDC."
On March 5, 2025, the Department of Chemical
Engineering at St. Joseph's College of Engineering
hosted an inspiring alumni talk by Mr. Sharvesh, a
Process Engineer in Technical Service at Sanmar
and an alumnus from the 2019-2023 batch. The
session was attended by second, third, and final-
year students, eager to gain insights into the
professional world of chemical engineering.
Mr. Sharvesh emphasized the importance of
mastering the basics of chemical engineering,
highlighting how foundational knowledge plays a
crucial role in tackling real-world challenges.
