Department of Mechanical Engineering and Institute of Engineers (IEI) Jointly
organized a Guest lecture on the Topic “Role of Mechanical Engineers in Onboard
& Offshore: Career scopes and Future Opportunities”. The Lecture was presented by
Chief Engineer Mr. Koki Panneerselvam, Mitsui OSK Lines Sailing Company, Japan.
& Associate Professor/ AMET University, Marine Engineering Department and the
chief guest was Dr. S. Karthikeyan, FIE, Honorary Secretary, IEI, Kancheepuram
Local Centre. 54 students from II & III year mechanical participated. The event also
celebrated innovative idea presentation on “Sustainable Marine Propulsion: The
Future of Green Shipping" and “Reducing Carbon Footprint in Maritime Transport:

Challenges & Solutions". The winners were recognized for their exceptional
projects, Certificates and cash prizes were distributed to the winners.
