                         Student Achievement





























   Students  from  the  Department  of  Chemical  Engineering,  St.  Joseph’s  College  of
   Engineering,  Chennai,  brought  laurels  to  the  institution  by  winning  prizes  at

   SCHEMCON  2025,  a  prestigious  national-level  conference  organized  by  the  Indian

   Institute  of  Chemical  Engineers  (IIChE)  and  hosted  by  Vellore  Institute  of

   Technology  (VIT),  Vellore.  The  event  witnessed  the  participation  of  over  600

   students  from  65  colleges  across  South  India,  presenting  innovative  ideas  and
   research contributions in various domains of Chemical and Allied Engineering. In the

   Nanotechnology,  Petroleum/  Petrochemical/  Polymer,  and  Safety  in  Process

   Industry  category,  S.  Akshaya  secured  the  First  Prize  for  her  presentation  on

   “Polymer  Engineering:  Fundamentals,  Design  and  Advancements  in  Sustainable

   Recycling.”  Additionally,  Rahul  K.,  Subash  G.,  and  Balakrishnan  B.  won  the  Third

   Prize for their project titled “Synthesis of Magnetic Nanoparticles from Biomass for
   the Removal of Textile Dyes.”




  Ritihashri N (IV year) and Abirami S (III year) from the Department of
  Biotechnology  participated  in  a  online  paper  presentation  at  E.G.S.

  Pillay College of Engineering on October 6, 2025. They won the III prize

  for  their  Paper  presentation.  This  achievement  highlights  their

  technical knowledge and presentation skills at the event held at the

  college.  Their  success  adds  to  the  Department  of  Biotechnology's

  record of encouraging student innovation and excellence.
